We have a lot going on in our parks this fall! Here are some ways you can get involved:


  1. Tuesday, October 6: National Night Out | Church Street Greenspace | 5-7:30pm


Get ready for a night of community fun at National Night Out! Come meet our local police and fire departments and enjoy a welcoming evening designed for the whole family. We’ll have free food, bounce houses, games, and plenty of activities to keep kids smiling and neighbors connecting. It’s a fun, relaxed night to play, eat, and celebrate our community together!


  1. Friday, October 9: Parks in the Dark -- Bats | Kelley Cofer Park | 7:30-9:30pm


Join us after dark to learn more about bats and their important role in our local ecosystems. This Parks in the Dark program will provide an opportunity to explore Kelley Cofer Park at night and learn about these fascinating nocturnal animals.


  1. Saturday, October 10: UGA vs. Alabama Watch Party | Tucker Town Green | 7:30pm


Join us for a UGA Alumni–sponsored tailgate event featuring food vendors, family fun, and plenty of spirit as we cheer on the Georgia Bulldogs!


  1. Saturday, October 10 & Saturday, October 17: Bug Boutique: Butterfly Pinning Workshop | Tucker Recreation Center | 10am | Cost: $65 (one-time fee)


Join us for the Bug Boutique: Butterfly Pinning Workshop, a two-part hands-on experience where participants will learn the basics of butterfly pinning and preservation using ethically sourced specimens. During the first session, participants will be guided through the delicate process of properly pinning their own butterfly specimen. In the second session, participants will return to learn how to frame and preserve their finished specimen to create a unique piece of natural history to take home.


  1. Saturday, October 17: Ten-Tober Festival | Tucker Main Street | 3-10pm


The grand finale of Tucker’s 10-Year Anniversary is almost here! Celebrate a decade of memories, milestones, and community spirit with Octoberfest-inspired fun featuring delicious food, games, friendly competitions, and football on the big screen. The excitement continues into the evening with a free concert on Main Street featuring Starship, creating the perfect finale to a year of celebrating Tucker’s history, connections, and future. From the first stein raised to the final song played, there’s something for everyone to enjoy!


  1. Thursday, October 22: Pumpkin Past & Present: History, Ecology & Carving Workshop | Tucker Recreation Center | 6:30-8pm | Cost: $10 | Ages 8+


Go beyond pumpkin carving! Participants will explore the history, traditions, and science behind one of fall’s favorite symbols. Learn about pumpkin agriculture, history, ancestral uses, and more. During the presentation, participants will carve their own pumpkin creation with all supplies included!


  1. Friday, October 23: Halloween Trail | Henderson Park West | 4-7pm


Calling all superheroes and supervillains! Join us as we team up to save the City of Tucker at our annual Haunted Trail, taking place this year on the west side of Henderson Park (2801 Henderson Rd). As night falls, brave the spooky trail and see which heroes rise to the challenge and which villains stir up mischief.


When you’re ready for a break from the thrills, head to the kid zone for bounce houses, face painting, tasty food vendors, and plenty more fun for all ages. Suit up, bring your courage, and help make this heroic night one to remember!


  1. Saturday, October 24: Pumpkin Carving Contest | Tucker Recreation Center | 6-7pm


Get creative this fall and show off your pumpkin-carving skills at Tucker Recreation Center! Join us for a fun-filled community pumpkin carving contest where participants can showcase their creativity, originality, and carving skills.
